Script Hook V is the base tool upon which GTA V’s modding is setup up. It is the library that allows the use of GTA V script native functions in custom *.asi plugins.
If you’re looking to install GTA V mods like vehicles, graphics overhaul, weapons, map changes, etc then download Script Hook V’s latest version as it is a set necessity for all of them.
It is compatible with almost all versions of GTA V as it is regularly updated with the game. It also includes a built-in Native trainer and the latest ASI Loader.
Note by Dev: Script Hook V doesn’t work in GTA Online, script hook disables custom scripts when player goes in multiplayer to prevent the player from getting banned.
Installation of Script Hook V:
- Copy ScriptHookV.dll to the game’s main folder, i.e. where GTA5.exe is located.
- In order to load asi plugins you need to have asi loader installed, you can use the latest version that comes with this package (dinput8.dll). You must delete the previous asi loader version (dsound.dll) if you have one installed.
- This package also includes a sample asi plugin – native trainer, if you need a trainer then copy NativeTrainer.asi too.
Requirements:
- The latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ (2015-2022).
- Script Hook V .Net 3.6.0 is also a prerequisite.
Controls For Native Trainer:
- F4 – activate
- NUM2/8/4/6 – navigate thru the menus and lists (num lock must be on)
- NUM5 – select
- NUM0/BACKSPACE/F4 – back
- NUM9/3 – use vehicle boost when active
- NUM+ – use vehicle rockets when active
